Zhambyl Schabajew ( Russian Жамбыл Жабаев * February 16 . Jul / 28. February  1846 . Greg in Zhambyl ; † 22. June 1945 in Alma-Ata ) was a Kazakh - Soviet poet and Akyn .

Life

Shambyl's father Schabai Istybayew (1812–1899), a poor but respected nomad from the tribe of the Schap surprisedy of the Great Horde , named his third son after the mountain Shambyl. On June 23 jul. / July 5,  1846 greg. the Great Horde entered the Russian Empire . As a child, Shambyl began to play dombra . Shambyl's uncle was a well-known cathedral priest.

At the age of 14, Schymbyl left the family and became Akyn. He sang songs with dombra accompaniment in the recitative exclusively in Kazakh. He learned the art of improvisation from Akyn Sujinbai Aronuly . At the turn of the century he repeatedly took part in aityschs (competitions) of prominent Akyns, which he won. In 1916 he was arrested for supporting a popular uprising.

After the October Revolution , Shambyl sang about the new state and its leading figures in the style of the old Kazakh heroic epics .

It is believed that the texts of these new songs were written by Russian poets who were registered as translators . Corresponding remarks can be found in the controversial memoirs of Dmitri Dmitrijewitsch Shostakowitsch . Andrei Ignatievich Aldan-Semjonow claimed that he built up Shambyl and wrote lyrics for him after the CPSU commissioned him to find a poor Akyn with many children. After his arrest, other translators worked, including Mark Arijewitsch Tarlowski , as Yevgeny Wladimirowitsch Witkowski discovered. According to information from the Kazakh journalist Jerbol Kurmanbayev, the poet Abbdilda Taschibayev presented the Kazakh Akyn Shambyl as a counterpart to the Dagestani poet Suleiman Stalsky, as instructed by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan Levon Issayevich Mirsojan . Taschibajew was Shambyl's first literary secretary alongside a group of other literary secretaries who provided Kazakh lyrics. Taschibayev's successor was Kalmakan Abdukadyrov . 1938–1942 Tair Sharakov wrote poems for Shambyl and then for Gali Ormanov.

Schambyl Museum

In 1938 Shambyl became a member of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR . At the beginning of the German-Soviet war , Shambyl's son Algadai Dschambulow (1900-1943) went to the front and fell on February 22, 1943 when Synelnykowes was liberated .

Schambyl was buried in the Aul Schambyl (60 km from Alma-Ata) named after him . The house in this aul, in which he had lived since 1938, became a museum. In 1998 the composer Nugrissa Atabaiuly Tilendijew was buried there next to Shambyl according to his wishes.

At the third Kazakh Writers' Congress in 1954, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan Panteleimon Kondratyevich Ponomarenko rejected all rumors about Shambyl's authorship . Schymbyl monuments can be found in Alma-Ata, Jessik , Kiev , Taras (1936–1938 Mirsojan, 1938–1993 Jambul, 1993–1997 Schambyl) and since 2002 in St. Petersburg as a gift from Kazakhstan on the 300th birthday of St. Petersburg. A 12 m high monument is located in the new Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan .
