Life

Sepp Rubenberger was born in Erding as the son of a choir director and head of the municipal singing school. There he also attended elementary and high school. In addition, he was active from 1949 to 1955 in the sports clubs of the cities of Erding, Regensburg and Burghausen . In 1954 he won 1st place at PSV Munich over 4 × 100 m at the 1st Bavarian indoor championship. He then tried his hand at flyweight wrestling as well . In parallel to his sporting activity, Rubenberger attended the organist school near Bad Reichenhall for a year because he was too young to study in Regensburg. A year later he was admitted to study church music at the Regensburg University of Music , where he also passed his exam. Then Rubenberger worked as a church musician at Chiemsee , where he met Annette Thoma , with whom he maintained a friendship until her death in 1974. At the same time he got to know Wastl Fanderl and Tobi Reiser . The following year Rubenberger worked in Burghausen as a church musician and director of the local chamber orchestra .

In 1958 Sepp Rubenberger moved to Rebdorf near Eichstätt . There he was one of the first to teach the subjects of sports, crafts and music in the newly founded boys' secondary school of the Sacred Heart Missionaries . In 1962 he founded the Eichstätter Chamber Orchestra. Just two years later, he also initiated the Ellingen Palace Concerts. In the next two years the Rebdorfer Bläser were created with his participation. In the following year the first Advent blowing and Advent singing took place. In 1968 he founded the Eichstätter Geigenmusi and ten years later the former Rebdorf wind instruments. He also received several awards from Duke Albrecht of Bavaria , on whose birthday Rubenberger played violin music with the Eichstätt in 1990. In 1991 he revived the old tradition of blowing the tower from the Eichstätter town hall tower , which takes place every summer. In the following two years he invited singers and musicians to a pilgrimage for singers and musicians for the first time and also founded the Josefi Association. He also organized the Tittinger Schlosshofserenaden and the Tittinger Schlosshofsingen, while at the same time he was choirmaster and conductor of many music associations. Many of his pieces were also recorded by Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), as well as readings on customs and Christmas readings . 1995 Ruben Berger eventually went as a music teacher in retirement , but taught his horns in Rebdorf a few more years on. In 1998 he received the Badge of Honor from the Bavarian Prime Minister for services of " women and men active in voluntary work ". In 2000 he founded the club Eichstätter cribs friends and 2007 Eichstätter Krippenweg . In 2011 he was finally awarded the Eichstätter Citizen Medal. He died on March 14, 2013 in the Ingolstadt hospital .
