Set Up is a heist movie directed by Mike Gunther and the script he wrote with Mike Behrman. The main characters are Bruce Willis , Ryan Phillippe and 50 Cent . The film was released directly on DVD and Blu-ray on September 20, 2011 in the USA .

The three friends Sonny, Dave and Vincent, who have known each other since childhood, carry out an ingenious robbery of a diamond courier in Detroit , Michigan . They loot diamonds worth five million dollars. Vincent, however, betrays his two friends in order to be able to have the loot to himself and shoots them. While Dave dies, Sonny survives the attempted murder, seeks revenge and goes on a hunt for Vincent and the prey. The original owners of the diamonds also send a killer. In his search for Vincent, Sonny allies himself with Jack Biggs, the most brutal Mafia godfather in town. However, Sonny also cheats him by two million dollars, but can draw suspicion on Vincent. In the end he gets his revenge and gives Dave's widow part of the booty.

criticism
The lexicon of international films described the film as a "[n] made-up [n] action film" . The role of Bruce Willis "hardly contributes to the development of the story" and can therefore only be assessed under the catchphrase "audience impact" .
