history

The name Siebenhöfen came into being in the 20th century, the historical place is called Wilbasen. The first mention comes from the Abdinghof monastery in Paderborn , which is documented as having the right to a tithe from Wilbasen. In 1448 there was a free chair to Wilbasen whose chair Lord the Lippe sovereign were. The place of justice was under an oak until the end of the 16th century. In addition, Wilbasen has been known as a place of pilgrimage since the 14th century . This is where the term Wilbasen comes from , which means wanting to atone . A church is documented as early as 1398, in which the family crypt of the Lippe noblemen was located. This was later moved to the monastery church in Blomberg. The last remains of the church in Wilbasen were torn down in 1703, the churchyard had long been used as pasture for cattle.

Around 1430, a parish fair with an attached market in Wilbasen is reported for the first time . The patron saint was St. Liborius . The still attractive Wilbaser Markt , a fair with a horse market, takes place every September and is known nationwide.

The name of the community of Siebenhöfen was changed to Obersiebenhöfen around 1915 . On May 1, 1926, a new community Siebenhöfen was formed. The Obersiebenhöfen community was incorporated into the new community. Parts of the area were added by the municipality of Maspe .

On January 1, 1970 Siebenhöfen was incorporated into the city of Blomberg.
