Sparkasse Staufen im Breisgau
The Sparkasse Staufen im Breisgau owes its existence to a private initiative in 1841. The economically weaker sections of the population should be given the opportunity to invest their savings safely and with interest. In addition, business, the self-employed and trade as well as medium-sized companies in the region should be promoted through loans. In 1856 the city of Staufen im Breisgau took over the guarantee for the savings bank's deposits. Thereupon the first board of directors of a public savings bank in Staufen i. Br. Formed. A year later, on February 1, 1857, the Sparkasse started business in the Hugard house in Staufen . In 1864, the Sparkasse in Mengen was founded, which in 1973 merged with Sparkasse Staufen i. Br. Merged. In 1865 the Sparkasse Staufen i. Br. To the orphan, savings and deposit fund, 1881 to the district savings bank Staufen im Breisgau. The office in Bad Krozingen opened in 1929.
District savings bank Breisach
The Sparkasse was founded in February 1853 as the “Public Spar-Cahse”. In 1900 an administration building was built on Neutorplatz in Breisach am Rhein . The branch in Königschaffhausen opened in 1935. A year later, the guarantor association was founded with the communities of Breisach , Burkheim am Kaiserstuhl , Gündlingen , Leiselheim , Merdingen , Schelingen and Wasenweiler . From this point on, the savings bank called itself “District Savings Bank Breisach - Public Association Savings Bank”. In 1938 another branch opened in Oberrimsingen . In September of the following year, due to its immediate location on the western front , it became necessary to relocate the savings bank to St. Blasien and later to Kirchzarten (December 1939). After returning in June 1940, a second evacuation to Kirchzarten took place in 1944. In 1959 and 1960 the offices in Ihringen and Oberrotweil opened . In 1975 the Königschaffhausen office had to be transferred to the neighboring Sparkasse Nördlicher Breisgau due to the municipal and district reform .
Sparkasse Staufen-Breisach
On January 1, 2001 , the "Sparkasse Staufen im Breisgau" and the "Bezirkssparkasse Breisach - Public Association Savings Bank" merged to form the Sparkasse Staufen-Breisach. This results in the two main offices in Breisach am Rhein and Staufen im Breisgau . The Sparkasse Staufen-Breisach is managed by Michael Grüninger (CEO) and Georg Selinger (Member of the Board).
