The West urban area is one of five urban areas in the city of Plauen in Saxony . It is divided into six districts.
The city area is traversed by the Syrabach , here is the Syratal nature reserve. The area is characterized by residential buildings and green areas and is considered the most upscale neighborhood in the city. The Vosla incandescent lamp factory , one of the largest employers in the area, is also located in the west of the city .
