The eastern urban area is one of five urban areas in the city of Plauen in Saxony . It is divided into seven districts.

The Friesenbach flows through the urban area . There is also the Chrieschwitzer Hang, the largest prefabricated housing estate in the city, and the Elsterpark, one of the largest shopping centers in Plauen. The Helios Vogtland Clinic Plauen and the city's main cemetery are located in the Reusa district . Autobahn 72 runs through the city .
