Starling is a group of the Altenfelden community in Upper Austria ( Rohrbach district ). The village was inhabited by 23 people in 2001.

geography

Starling is a group in the Altenfelden community and is located around 2.5 kilometers north-northeast of Altenfelden's market square. Starling can be reached from the center of Altenfelden via Rohrbacher Straße (B 127). The village of Fraunschlag is to the west of Starling and the village of Oberfeuchtenbach to the east . To the north of Starling are the villages of Hölling, Liebenstein and Partenreit, which are part of the municipality of Arnreit , and to the south of the village are Freileben and Unterfeuchtenbach. A total of four buildings were counted for Starling in 2001, four buildings having a main residence and eight apartments or seven households.

History and population

In 1869, 42 people lived in six houses in Starling. By 1910, the population fell to 24 people, with the village comprising five buildings. By 1923 the population stagnated at 23, and the number of houses also remained stable at five. In 1951 a total of 27 people lived in five houses in Starling. By 2001, the number of inhabitants decreased slightly to 23 people in four houses.

Buildings

In Starling there are two tabernacle pillars from the mid-18th century, one of the pillars showing a picture of St. George.
