Straight Outta Lynwood is Weird Al Yankovic's twelfth album . It was released on September 16, 2006 in the USA on Volcano Records , on September 30, 2006 in Australia, on October 3, 2006 in Canada, on October 6, 2006 in New Zealand, and on November 24, 2006 in Germany. On October 16, 2006, Yankovic's British label "reluctantly" agreed and released the album on November 13, 2006.

The album was released in Germany as a double CD, with the second disc being a DVD. This uses 5.1 digital surround sound and includes instrumental versions of all songs (with optional subtitles for karaoke ), a nine-minute documentary and six music videos. A 24-page booklet is included with the CD .

So far, two singles of the album have been released in the USA . The first Don't Download This Song and the second White & Nerdy . Both can be heard on Yankovic's MySpace page. The music videos for the titles can also be seen there. Don't Download This Song is available from Richard Stallman and Richard König's official website without Flash for GNU / Linux users.

Straight Outta Lynwood is Yankovic's most successful album in the US and his first album in the top ten . White & Nerdy was his first top ten single. The song Canadian Idiot also hit the charts and reached number 82 without being released as a single.
