geography

The Delbrücker Ridge, a terminal moraine from the Ice Age , divides the district of Hagen into northern and southern Hagen. While Sudhagen is the focus of the settlement and has grown continuously over the past decades, Nordhagen is characterized by a rural structure with numerous individual farms. There is no solid core here.

The Grubebach runs in the northern area of Nordhagen . In addition, the settlement area of Sudhagen is bordered by the Haustenbach in the north and by the Boker Canal in the south .

history

The first traces of settlement date from the 12th and 13th centuries AD.

Before January 1, 1975, the then municipality of Hagen belonged to the Delbrück office of the previous Paderborn district . With the entry into force of the Sauerland / Paderborn Act on this day, the municipalities of this office will be merged with the three Lippe municipalities of Anreppen , Bentfeld and Boke of the Salzkotten-Boke office of the Büren district to form the new town of Delbrück in the new Paderborn district. The legal successor to the municipality of Hagen with the districts of Nordhagen and Sudhagen and the dissolved office of Delbrück is the new city of Delbrück.

economy

The center of the Delbrück furniture industry is located in Hagen. The furniture manufacturers Schröno (upholstered furniture) and Schröder (home furniture) have been based here for decades and are the main employers in Hagen in the furniture sector.
