The 2016/17 season was the 43rd season of the Superliga , the highest Spanish ice hockey division .
Main round
mode
In the main round, each of the seven teams played a total of twelve games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. A win in regular time earned a team 3 points. A win and a defeat after extra time was rewarded with 2 or 1 point. There were no points for a defeat in regular time.
