background
In 1999, Destiny's Child members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett split from frontwoman Beyoncé Knowles and Kelly Rowland , with Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin taking their places . However, Franklin later split from the group. According to Knowles, her girl group has been compared to the US show Survivor . This comparison inspired Knowles to write a song “full of negativity about us”.
The station Black Entertainment voted the song the most successful of the 2000s.
Music video
The music video premiered on “ MTV - Making the Video” and shows how the group's singers survive on an island. A preview shows which events have led to their having to live on an island.
The group released the music video on Destiny's Child Album # 1’s as well as on the international deluxe edition of the album Survivor and on the DVD Fan Pack .
Destiny's Child recorded another remix video with rapper Da Brat , but this was never released.
controversy
Destiny's Child founding members LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson reported Knowles, Rowland, and manager Mathew Knowles. They stated that some lines in Survivor's song , such as "You thought I wouldn't sell without you / sold nine million," were insulting. Nothing is known about the course of the process.
