Medal table

Svetlana Nikolajewna Podobedova ( Kazakh / Russian Светлана Николаевна Подобедова , English transcription Svetlana Podobedova ; born May 25, 1986 in Sima ) is an early Russian, now Kazakh weightlifter .

Career

Svetlana Podobedowa from Sima in the Irkutsk Oblast , who started for Lok Sima, was discovered for weightlifting at the age of twelve and has since trained in various training centers. At the age of 20 she was one of the world's best weightlifters in the class up to 75 kg, together with Natalja Sabolotnaja and the Chinese Liu Chunhong . It started for Russia until 2006 . On July 19, 2006, Podobedowa was convicted of doping during a training test and was then banned from all competitions by the International Weightlifting Federation (IMF) until July 18, 2008.

Her first public appearance after the ban took place at the 2009 World Championships in Goyang, where she competed for Kazakhstan and with three new world records she won all three gold medals in the class up to 75 kg. The world records had risen to 132 kg in snatch, 160 kg in jerk and 292 kg in duel, which she improved her own world record of June 2, 2006 by 6 kg. The 286 kg remain as a junior world record. Second at the 2009 World Cup was the Chinese Cao Lei, who was doped in the duel at the 2008 Olympic Games .

At the 2010 World Championships in Antalya, she improved the world record in snatching to 134 kg, in pushing to 161 kg and the record for the overall standings to 295 kg, after Natalja Sabolotnaja had already increased the world records to 133 kg and 293 kg at the same event. Since April 16, 2011, Nadezhda Evstjuchina has been the world record holder with 162 kg in pushing and improved this record on November 10, 2011 to 163 kg.

Again doping

In 2016, a post-doping test by the International Olympic Committee found that Podobedova had won her Olympic medal from London 2012 by illicit means. She is therefore considered a repeat offender; the medal was revoked .
