The Tahnoun Bin Mohamed Stadium ( Arabic استاد طحنون بن محمد) is a football stadium with an athletics facility in al-Ain in the emirate of Abu Dhabi . Along with Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, which opened in 2014, the stadium is one of the two home stadiums of the al Ain Club , which plays in the country's highest league, the UAE Arabian Gulf League . The facility was opened on August 20, 1987 and seats 9,000.

The stadium was opened on August 20, 1987 by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.

In October 2003 the first final of the AFC Champions League between the al Ain Club and the Thai club BEC-Tero Sasana took place in the football stadium . With a 2-0 win for the home team and a 0-1 defeat in the second leg at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok , the al Ain Club won its first continental title. Two years later, the club was in the final again , this time against Ittihad FC from Saudi Arabia. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, they lost 4-2 in the second leg at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah .

In November 2009 the UAE International Cup took place at Tahnoun Bin Mohamed Stadium. The participants were the national teams from Azerbaijan , Iraq , the Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates . After beating the Czech Republic on penalties, the Emirates lost 1-0 to the Iraqis in the final.

In July 2017, the venue was one of the venues for the qualification for the U-23 Asian Cup 2018, which was held in ten mini- tournaments . The home team did not qualify for the finals after winning against Nepal and Lebanon and losing to Uzbekistan .
