AFC Champions League 2007 was the fifth edition of the AFC Champions League . A total of 28 teams from 15 member associations of the Asian Football Association competed . The season started on March 7, 2007 and ended on November 14 of the same year.

The winner of the tournament was the Urawa Red Diamonds , the Japanese champion was able to prevail in the final against the Iranian representative Sepahan Isfahan . It was the first time a Japanese club had won the AFC Champions League.

qualification

The 15 associations that have been classified as fully developed by the AFC are each allowed to send the champion and the cup winner or the runner-up. From 2007 Thailand and Vietnam each lost one place to Australia and were therefore only represented by one team. As compensation, the two associations received a starting place in the AFC Cup .
