Taxach is a village , a cadastral municipality and a district of Hallein with 3801 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Hallein district in the Salzburger Land in Austria .

Today Taxach is referred to as Taxach-Rif in connection with Rif .

Castle Rif

In addition to Rif Castle, there are the Gutrat castle ruins and Gartenau Castle, which is not open to the public, in Taxach.

The Salzachtal Straße leads through Taxach . There are two stops here . These are called Taxach Brückenwirt and Taxach Hohlwegwirt, where line 170 stops.

University and State Sports Center Salzburg Rif

The University and State Sports Center (ULSZ) Salzburg Rif is home to numerous institutions: The Department of Sports and Exercise Science / USI of the University of Salzburg, the Salzburg School Sports Model (SSM), the Army Sports Center (HLSZ), the Olympic Center Salzburg-Rif, numerous professional associations Sports, etc. The ULSZ has approx. 460,000 visitors per year. The ULSZ-Rif is financed by the State of Salzburg and the University of Salzburg. It was built in 1986 and expanded continuously in the years that followed. Numerous sports facilities for indoor and outdoor sports are available to visitors.
