That's Life! That's life is an American comedy film of Blake Edwards from the year 1986 .
action
Shortly before his 60th birthday, the wealthy architect Harvey had a full- blown midlife crisis . He becomes a hypochondriac and gets on the nerves of his whole family. Daughter Jenny is expecting a child and Harvey makes it clear at dinner that his grandson shouldn't call him grandfather or the like. This leads to a solid argument, which mother Gillian tries to resolve. In addition to preparing for the big weekend birthday party, she also has her own worries. Her health has not been particularly good lately and an examination should clarify this. In order not to increase the general stress, she hides this from her family.
The youngest daughter Katie comes to the party without her boyfriend Steve because they had recently quarreled. At first she doesn't want to talk about her problem, but just snaps at everyone else in the house. After all, she lets her mother comfort her. To find some peace, Harvey visits a church again after a long time and confesses; he finds out that the priest is an old schoolmate. The pastor himself is not particularly biblical, but rather fond of alcohol. Even his attempt to find clarity about his life with a fortune teller does not get Harvey any further.
On the evening of the big birthday party, Harvey finally realizes that he can always rely on his family. He accepts the fact that he is getting older and can look forward to the birth of his grandson. Gillian, too, is relieved of her tension about the results of the investigation and Katie's friend Steve shows up with their dog to apologize.
