In a panic of the negative consequences of discovering their failure, the three decide to claim to have shot Vogel while he was fleeing. Back in Israel, they are celebrated as heroes. 30 years later Rachel, David and Stephan are caught up with their past: They find out that Vogel now lives in the Ukraine . Rachel feels an obligation to bring the failed 1965/1966 mission to an end. She travels to Kiev , finds Vogel and finally kills him.

Reviews

“An 'old-fashioned' secret service thriller that emphasizes the craftsmanship, plays with the duration of processes and uses montage and figure perspective to create tension. The entanglement of the time levels is simple, but extremely effective; all in all, the top-class agent thriller tends to be psychological intimate play. "

“In an ideal way, a gripping, political story was merged with profound moral questions without raising a moral index finger. The viewer is asked to weigh for himself which morality he may follow, even if the power of guilt finally prevails against the power of lies. And so it is possible to follow the action to the end of the story, because the dissolution of the political and personal burden cannot be foreseen until the end - this is where people act, not drawing board characters. AN OPEN INVOICE is the stroke of luck of a sophisticated fictional story, set in a real political and historical environment, which does not degenerate into a superficial thriller and moral farce, but entertains the viewer at the highest level. "
