The New Day is a wrestling table consisting of the wrestlers Big E , Kofi Kingston , Xavier Woods and, for a short time, Kevin Owens , of the wrestling league World Wrestling Entertainment . With 483 days of title reign, The New Day are the team with the longest title reign of any Tag Team title in the WWE. The New Day are currently performing on the SmackDown wrestling show . Her greatest achievement is winning the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship twice and winning the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship six times . You are the first tag team to win both the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship .

Beginnings

After Big E and Kofi Kingston formed a tag team , they lost many matches. When the team lost to Rybaxel ( Curtis Axel and Ryback ) on Raw on July 21, 2014 , Xavier Woods came out and confronted the two. The following day at the WWE Show WWE Main Event, Xavier Woods helped them beat Slater Gator ( Heath Slater and Titus O'Neil ). After several appearances without stable name, they disappeared from the shows, but still went on house shows up.

From November 3, 2014 until their return to SmackDown on November 28, video segments of the three with new gimmicks were broadcast. On November 28th at SmackDown, they defeated Curtis Axel and Slator Gator (Heath Slater and Titus O'Neal) and have since performed as The New Day .

New Day as Tag Team Champions (2015-2017)

On May 26, 2015 at PPV Extreme Rules , Cesaro and Tyson Kidd's Big E and Kofi Kingston won the WWE Tag Team Championship . Thanks to the Freebird Rules , Xavier Woods also became champion. On June 14, 2015 at PPV Money in the Bank , Big E and Xavier Woods lost the titles to the Prime Time Players ( Darren Young and Titus O'Neal). On August 23, 2015 at SummerSlam , they won the WWE Tag Team Championship for the second time by taking Big E and Kofi Kingston to the previous titleholders, the Prime Time Players, and the Lucha Dragons ( Kalisto and Sin Cara ) and Los Matadores ( Fernando and Diego ) in a Fatal Four-Way Tag Team match . During their second reign they also appeared under the Freebird Rules , so that Xavier Woods was also champion.

At the WWE Draft 2016 , the stable was drafted to Raw, making them part of the Raw roster. During their second reign, the WWE Tag Team Championship was renamed the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship as SmackDown introduced their own tag team title with the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship . On July 22, 2016, they broke the record of Brian Kendrick and Paul London , who were 331 days champions, to become the team with the longest title reign in the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship . In April 2016, they were allowed to induct The Fabulous Freebirds into the WWE Hall of Fame . On December 14th, they set the 28-year-old Demolition record , which held the World Tag Team Championship for 478 days, to become the team with the longest reign of a tag team in WWE.

On December 18, 2016 at Roadblock: End of the Line , Cesaro and Sheamus ended the title reign of The New Day after 483 days.

At WrestleMania 33 , they hosted that show. In the following edition of Raw, members Big E and Xavier Woods lost to The Revival ( Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson ). After the match, Kofi Kingston was attacked by The Revival. After that, The New Day was written off the shows after Kofi Kingston sustained a real injury.

SmackDown (from 2017)

The April 11, 2017 edition of SmackDown announced the move from The New Day to SmackDown. They've been part of the SmackDown roster ever since. On July 23, 2017 at WWE Battleground , they won the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship from the Usos . By winning the title, they are the first tag team to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship after the Raw Tag Team Championship . At SummerSlam on August 20, 2017, they lost the title again to The Usos . After just 23 days, The New Day were able to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship back from The Usos. However, this reign lasted only 26 days and finally lost the title again on October 8, 2017 at Hell In A Cell in a Hell In A Cell match back to The Usos. On August 21, 2018, the trio were able to secure the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for the third time , this time from the then titleholders The Bludgeon Brothers Harper and Rowan . The reign then lasted for 56 days and lost the title on October 16, 2018 at SmackDown 1000 to The Bar Cesaro & Sheamus . Since then, the trio has been playing various tag team matches. At WrestleMania 35 on April 7, 2019, Kofi Kingston won the WWE Championship , but has been at New Day's side ever since. On July 17, 2019, Big E & Woods won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for the fourth time. On September 15, 2019, Big E & Woods lost the title after 63 days of reign. On October 4, 2019, Kingston finally lost the title to Brock Lesnar on WWE Friday Night SmackDown after 180 days of reign . In October 2019, Woods injured his Achilles tendon and will be out until summer 2020. On November 8, 2019, Big E & Kofi Kingston won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for the fifth time. For this they defeated The Revival Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder. They lost the title on February 27, 2020 in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia , at WWE Super ShowDown against The Miz and John Morrison . On April 17, 2020, Kofi Kingston and Big E were able to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship again by defeating The Miz and John Morrison. The reign lasted 93 days and finally lost the title on July 19, 2020 to Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura .
