Tihomir Filipec (born September 4, 1989 in Zagreb , SR Croatia ) is a Croatian ice and inline hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with KHL Zagreb since 2014 and has been playing with the club in the Croatian and Slovenian ice hockey leagues since 2015 .

Career

Clubs

Tihomir Filipec began his career as an ice hockey player at KHL Mladost Zagreb , for which he was active in the Croatian and partly also in the neighboring Slovenian ice hockey league. In 2008 he won both the Pannonian League and the Croatian championship with his club . In 2010, the goalkeeper moved to city rivals KHL Medveščak Zagreb , who had been added to the Austrian ice hockey league for the 2009/10 season . However, Filipec was used almost exclusively in the club's second team, which plays in the Croatian league and with which he has been Croatian champions without interruption since 2011 . In the 2010/11 season he was also used in the Slohokej League in Team Zagreb , a cooperation between the two Zagreb clubs Medveščak and Mladost. In 2013 and 2014 he was named the best goalkeeper in the Croatian ice hockey league. He has been playing at KHL Zagreb since 2014 and with it since 2015 in the Slovenian ice hockey league . In 2016 he was voted the best goalkeeper in the Croatian league again.

International

For Croatia , Filipec took part in the division II tournaments of the U18 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 and 2007 and the U20 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , when he had the third best catch quota behind the Dutchman Ian Meierdres and the Estonian Mark Rajevski was voted the tournament's best goalkeeper, and participated in 2009 . In his last junior year he and his team were promoted to Division I of the U20 World Cup.

In the senior division, he was in the goal of the Croatians for the first time at the Division II World Championship 2011 . In 2012 and 2013 he was also part of the squad in his home country. Although he was not a single minute on the ice in 2013, the regular goalkeeper was Mate Krešimir Tomljenović , but rose with his team through the victory in the A group of Division II to Division I.

He was also part of his country's squad at the qualifying tournaments for the 2014 Winter Olympics in September and November 2012. The Croatians were able to win the pre-qualification, but were eliminated in the first qualifying round after three defeats. Filipec was only used in the last half an hour in the 15-2 victory in the pre-qualification against Israel and was otherwise in the shadow of goalkeeper Tomljenović.

Inline hockey

In addition to his ice hockey career, Filipec also plays inline hockey . With the Croatian national team , he took part in the 2013 World Cup in Dresden in the second-class Division I and came in fifth.
