The Tinayguk River is a 70 km long right tributary of the North Fork Koyukuk River in the Gates of the Arctic National Park in Alaska .
Its headwaters are the western flank of Slatepile Mountain in the Endicott Mountains , a mountain range of the Brooks range . It initially flows around 20 km westwards, then follows a sharp bend in the valley to the southeast and flows into the North Fork of the Koyukuk River 40 km northwest of Wiseman .
The name of the river was proposed by Robert Marshall in 1930 and has its origins in the Native American name for moose .
The Tinayguk River was designated as a National Wild and Scenic River under the administration of the National Park Service in 1980 by the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act .
