Tobias Koch (born October 18, 1973 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament since 2017 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Trittau in 1992 , Koch completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk at Deutsche Bank in Hamburg until 1994 and then did his military service . From 1995 to 2000 he studied business administration at the University of Hamburg , which he completed with a degree in business administration. After working at Deutsche Bank in Hamburg from 1995 onwards, while studying, he switched to Deutsche Bank in Lübeck as a special investment advisor in 2003 .

Tobias Koch has two children.

Political party

Koch joined the Junge Union as a student in 1989 and the CDU in 1990. Since 1998 he has been on the board of the CDU district association Stormarn with a short interruption, from 2008 to 2014 as deputy district chairman, since 2014 as chairman. In 2016, he was also elected deputy state chairman of the CDU Schleswig-Holstein.

From 1994 to 1997, Koch was a member of the municipal council in Lütjensee and a member of the Trittau official committee. Subsequently, from 1998 to 2003, he was a civil member of the Ahrensburg city council and a member of the finance committee. He chaired the finance committee from 2001 to 2009 inclusive. Tobias Koch has been a member of the city council of Ahrensburg since 2003 . He has also been chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in Ahrensburg since 2010.

MP

In the 2005 state elections for the 16th electoral term, Koch was elected for the first time as a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament. From 2009 to 2011 he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the HSH investigative committee. In addition, Koch has been a member of the parliamentary committee of the CDU parliamentary group since 2009, and from August 2011 he was also deputy chairman. In the 18th electoral term, Koch was a member of the budget audit working group and the state's subcommittee on corporate investments as financial policy spokesman. In addition, he was a deputy member of the education committee.

Tobias Koch has entered the state parliament as a directly elected member of the Stormarn-Mitte constituency (previously: constituency Ahrensburg). In the state elections in 2005 (16th electoral period), 2009 and 2012, he was able to win the constituency with a majority of the first votes for the CDU (2012: 39.2%).

For the state elections in 2017 he was nominated with 96.9% as a CDU candidate in the constituency of Stormarn-Mitte.

In the 2017 state elections , Tobias Koch once again entered the state parliament for the 19th electoral term with 39.1 percent of the first votes as a directly elected member of the Stormarn-Mitte constituency . After Daniel Günther took over the office of Prime Minister, Koch was elected as the new chairman of the CDU parliamentary group on June 28, 2017. Koch is also still a member of the Finance Committee and the Parliamentary Unification Committee.

Social Commitment

In addition to his political activities, Tobias Koch is involved in various associations. He is a member of the German Red Cross , the Friends of Ahrensburg Castle and Haus & Grund, the Ahrensburg property owners association .
