The European Truck Racing Championship is a motorsport racing series for specially prepared competition trucks that races exclusively in Europe. This series has been organized as the European Truck Racing Championship since 1985 . In 1994 it was taken over by the FIA , the world automotive authority , which advertised European cups until 2005 and upgraded the series to a full European championship in 2006 . The technical regulations are now defined by Article 290 of the FIA International Sports Law . The racing trucks form group F in the vehicle classes of the FIA.
