Tscherepanowo ( Russian Черепаново , German  (noble) Powayen ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad in the urban district Swetly .

Geographical location

Cherepanowo is located 20 kilometers northwest of the city of Kaliningrad and is reached from this via the municipal road 27K-118. The municipal road 27K-184 runs through the village in a north-south direction to the Schipowka railway station on the Kaliningrad – Baltiysk railway line .

history

The establishment date of the place named before 1947 nobleman Powayen or Powayen was in the year 1344. The place is today a few hundred meters southwest of the place called Tscherepanowo , to which the old village, of which little can be seen today, was assigned. The former residential area Bahnhof Powayen , which belonged to the place, is now a separate settlement and bears the Russian name Schipowka . The village of Klein Medenau , which was incorporated between 1898 and 1928 , then became part of Medenau and no longer exists today.

In 1874 Powayen was incorporated into the district of Condehnen (Russian: Slavyanskoje, no longer existent), which was renamed on February 19, 1931 in "District of Groß Blumenau " (today in Russian: Kremnjowo). Until 1939 it belonged to the district of Fischhausen , from 1939 to 1945 to the district of Samland in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910, the then manorial district Adlig Powayen had 186 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, the rural communities of Groß Blumenau and Klein Blumenau merged with the Adlig Powayen estate to form the new rural community of Groß Blumenau .

As a result of the war, in 1945 the village, known only as Powayen after 1928 , with northern East Prussia, became part of the Soviet Union . In 1947 it was given the Russian name Tscherepanowo and was assigned to the village soviet Logwinski selski Sowet in Zelenogradsk Raion at the same time . Presumably in 1963 the place came to the Pereslavski selski Sowet and in the mid-1970s then to the Wolotschajewski selski Sowet in Gurjewsk Rajon . Cherepanovo has been part of the Swetly district since 1994 .

church

The predominantly Protestant population (nobles) Powayens was parish in the parish of the church in Medenau before 1945 . That belonged to the parish of Fischhausen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today, Cherepanowo is in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Swetly , a subsidiary of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
