National team

On June 30, 2004 played for Finland for the first time internationally. She made her senior team debut in September 2007 against Scotland . In 2009 she was part of the squad for the EM in her home country. It was used in the third group match against Ukraine and in the quarter-finals, which were lost 3-2 to eventual finalists England . In qualifying for the 2011 World Cup , she made seven appearances, but failed with her team to Italy . Although they scored 1-1 in Italy, they lost 3-1 at home on the penultimate matchday against the Italians, who failed in the play-off phase to France . In qualifying for the EM 2013 it went better and the Finns were able to qualify for the finals in Sweden by winning the group. Here she was used in the three group games, in which she only lost to hosts Sweden 0-5. The two draws against Denmark and Italy were not enough to survive the preliminary round. Due to the worse goal difference, they were only fourth. The qualification for the 2015 World Cup was completed by the Finns behind France and the Austrians with the same number of points , who scored one more goal than third in the group in the two games against the Finns. The qualification for the Euro 2017 ran just as disappointing. Finland was the only participant from 2013 unable to qualify. Behind the two Iberian teams Spain and Portugal only came third. The decisive factor was a goalless draw in the home game against the Portuguese, who won their home game against the Finns 3-2 and then secured the last place in the finals via the playoffs and participated for the first time. Hyyrynen was used in seven of the eight group games. She also made seven appearances in qualifying for the 2019 World Cup , which again ended in third place - this time behind Spain and Austria.

In the first game after the World Cup qualification on October 4, 2018, she was substituted on for her 100th international match at the four-nation tournament in China against Thailand at the beginning of the second half .
