Tumauini ( Filipino : Bayan ng Tumauini ) is a Filipino municipality in the province of Isabela , Administrative Region II, Cagayan Valley. It has 67,650 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 46 barangays . It is classified as a first income class community in the Philippines and as partially urbanized .
Tumauini is in the north of the province. The municipality is located at the foot of the Cordillera Central massif in the west, in the valley of the Cagayan Rivers . It is located 428 km north of Manila and is accessible via the Marhalika Highway . Their neighboring communities are Santo Tomas in the northwest, Delfin Albano in the west, Ilagan City in the south, Divilacan in the east, Cabagan in the north.
Tumauini is best known for the Church of San Mattias , which was declared a National Cultural Treasure and has been on the list of proposals for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2006 .
