Unforgettable - songs that last

Unforgotten - songs that remain was a radio series of the ERF Plus , which, due to its success, expanded both in the form of a sound carrier series and a concert series. The series was discontinued around January 2017.

Broadcast

Moderated by Stephan Stein zeal , began ERF Radio , the radio series in 2005 unforgotten - songs that stay with original recordings of gospel songs of 1950 and 1960 years, all of them from the archives of the Christian record label Good News in song (now Gerth media ). The program was broadcast on the third Saturday of the month from 9:00 p.m. and repeated on the following Saturday at 11:00 p.m.

Sound carrier series

The first episode of the sound carrier series of the same name appeared in 2005. In 2010 the Gerth Medien label announced sales of 40,000 copies for the first time, which by 2013 had doubled to 80,000. A total of 14 episodes appeared in this series, including three specials that are conceptually devoted to the songwriter Paul Gerhardt (episode 4), Advent and Christmas (episode 5) as well as Elsa and Ernst August Eicker and their choir work Wir singen für Jesus (episode 8). In January 2017, the 14th episode was the last CD in the series.

In the summer of 2015, the first episode of the parallel series Unforgotten - Janz team classics with archive material from the former music labels of today's Janz Team Music such as songs of life was released . In addition to Hildor Janz , the Janz Quartet and various Janz Team campaign choirs from different ages appear as interpreters. The selection of titles in this series is more focused than in the mother series on the 1970s , the heyday of what was then the Janz Team Mission, now renamed TeachBeyond . A second episode appeared in June 2016. No further episodes are planned for the Unvergessen - Janz Team Classic series either.

Concert series

On May 15, 2011, Gerth Medien and ERF Medien hosted the first nostalgia concert under the title and motto Unforgotten in the Wetzlar town hall, with original interpreters of the gospel hymns from the 50s to 70s, most of them inactive for decades, moderated by Ulrike Schild and Stephan Steinseifer . In addition to the 100 voices Unforgotten Choir under the direction of Hans-Werner Scharnowski , composed of singers, some of which have been disbanded for years, such as the Wetzlar Youth Choir , the Wetzlar Evangelium Choir , the Jubilate Choir , the Happy Message Singing Group and the We Sing for Jesus Choir , included soloists such as Martin Gerhard , Doris Loh , Henner Gladen , Christel Menzel-Schrebkowski and the former child star Christiane as well as formations such as Hannelore and Elisabeth Jakobi , Gretel and Herbert Masuch and Elsa & Ernst August Eicker with their daughters Cornelia Eicker and Ruthild Eicker in the family quartet Die Eickers to the guests. Due to illness, Margret Birkenfeld , who addressed the concert-goers via video message, and Jochen Rieger , who was originally planned to be the choir director, were unable to attend . After Hans-Werner Scharnowski, who was initially intended to be the pianist, took over the direction of the choir, Michael Schlierf took over on the piano .

The concert format proved so successful that a follow-up event was held on October 30 of the same year in the Schönblick Forum in Schwäbisch Gmünd . On September 9, 2012, an “Unforgotten concert” took place in the spiritual armory center Krelingen in Walsrode with other performers such as Kurt Volz , and on June 16, 2013 the event took place for the last time in East Germany, namely in Crimmitschau .
