The administrative community Hainich-Werratal is located in the Wartburg district in Thuringia . In it, the city of Creuzburg and seven municipalities have come together to handle their administrative business. The administrative seat is in Creuzburg, there is a branch in Berka vdH.

history

On April 29, 1991, the municipalities of Berka vor dem Hainich, Ebenshausen , Frankenroda , Hallungen , Lauterbach , Mihla and Nazza joined forces in the administrative community Mihla to handle their administrative business. Its administrative seat was in Berka in front of the Hainich. In 1997 the community of Bischofroda joined.

With the announcement of the resignation of the chairman of the neighboring administrative community of Creuzburg on June 30, 2012 negotiations were started on the dissolution of the VG Creuzburg and the quickest possible accession of the three member municipalities of Creuzburg , Ifta and Krauthausen to the administrative community Mihla. After the merger of the administrative communities into the planned Thuringian law for the voluntary reorganization of municipalities belonging to the district was included in 2013, the municipalities of Ifta, Creuzburg and Krauthausen joined the administrative community Mihla on December 31, 2013, the administrative community of Creuzburg was dissolved.

On February 1, 2014, a new name for the administrative community was voted on. The choices were “Creuzburg-Mihla” and “Hainich-Werratal”. It was decided that the administrative community will be called "Hainich-Werratal" in future. In addition, Creuzburg was unanimously elected as the administrative seat. The name change and the relocation of the administrative headquarters was ordered on August 29, 2014 by the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior and came into force on October 1, 2014.

On January 1, 2019, the member community Ifta left the administrative community as part of the Thuringia regional reform in 2018 and 2019 and was incorporated into the municipality after Treffurt .

On December 31, 2019, the member communities Ebenshausen and Mihla merged with the city of Creuzburg to form the new city of Amt Creuzburg.
