Ferdinand Bordewijk Prize

The Ferdinand Bordewijk Prize (Dutch: F. Bordewijk-prijs ), Vijverbergprijs from 1948 to 1978 , is a Dutch literary prize awarded by the Jan Campert Foundation. The award goes to the author of the best Dutch-language prose work .

Up until 2014 the prize was awarded annually, from 2015 only every two years. The winner receives 6,000 euros in prize money (2019). The jury (2016) consists of: Erica van Boven, Jeroen Dera, Yra van Dijk, Arjen Fortuin, Aad Meinders (chairman), Jan de Roder, Carl de Strycker and Maria Vlaar. The award ceremony will take place at the beginning of the year during the Writers' Festival in the Theater aan het Spui in The Hague . The award is presented by the Councilor for Culture.

The F. Bordewijk Prize has been named after the Dutch writer Ferdinand Bordewijk (1884–1965) since 1979 . Together with Simon Vestdijk , he is considered the most important Dutch prose writer of his time.
