Vilaflor , fully Vilaflor de Chasna , is a municipality on the Canary Island of Tenerife in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife .

Vilaflor is the highest place on the entire island (1400 meters high) and has an area of 56.26 square kilometers and 1667 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). The village is located along the national road 821 in the southern part of the island, from the airport Reina Sofia about 25 kilometers away.

economy
Besides the mostly traveling tourism on the way to the Teide National Park and the so-called lunar landscape Paisaje Lunar, the inhabitants live from bottling the two mineral springs Pinalito and Fuente Alta and from selling handicrafts (carvings and embroidery). The almond and honey biscuits made here are also known all over the island.
Attractions
- The church of San Pedro , a three-aisled building from the 17th century, is built in the Canarian style.
- The chapel Mirador San Roque . The ecological theme park Museo Guanche is being built nearby .
- Vilaflor is the birthplace of the first Canarian saint El Hermano Pedro de Betancur (1626–1667), who was canonized on July 31, 2002 by Pope John Paul II . Since then, a big one-week festival has been held in Vilaflor every year.
