The Vockebach is the longest and at the same time a northern and orographically right tributary of the Pfieffe in the East Hessian mountains in the North Hessian districts Werra-Meißner and Schwalm-Eder , Germany .

Its catchment area covers 19.833 km².

course

The Vockebach rises in the western part of the Werra-Meißner-Kreis in the Fulda-Werra-Bergland , part of the East Hessian highlands. Its source is in the extreme north of the Stölzinger Mountains on the northeast flank of 583  m above sea level. NHN high iceberg at a height of around 505  m .

Initially, the Vockebach flows north, passing the Große Steine (approx.  520  m ) to the west, a piece along the Barbarossaweg to Reichenbach , a south-eastern district of Hessisch Lichtenau . Then it runs a bit to the west along the state road  3249, where it passes the castle ruin Reichenbach ( 522.3  m ) south and then flows southwest through the southern district of Wickersrode .

The Vockebach then reaches the Schwalm-Eder district, in which it flows through the north-eastern Spangenberg district of Vockerode-Dinkelberg after the small Weidelbach flows into it on the left. Continuing along the L 3249, it flows about 3 km (as the crow flies ) south of this twin village not far south of Hof Beieröde after crossing under the L 3227 and the former route of the Kanonenbahn at a height of 255  m in the Fulda inflow Pfieffe coming from the east .
