Volker Barth

Volker Ernst Barth (* 1953 ) is a Brigadier General a. D. the Bundeswehr .

Military career

After graduating from the North Sea High School in Büsum , Barth joined the German Armed Forces as an officer candidate in July 1973.

From October 2006 to February 2007, Barth served as ISAF regional commander in RC North in northern Afghanistan.

In his penultimate assignment, Barth was in the Bonn Command Armed Forces Base (KdoSKB) until May 2013, responsible for the planning and conception of joint / cross- armed training. From May 1, 2013 until his retirement in September 2015, he was deputy commander of the Center for Inner Leadership (ZInFü) and commissioner for education and training for the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr (BEA).
