Dieter Dammjacob

Dieter Damm Jacob (* 18th February 1951 in Schweinfurt ) is a brigadier general from service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces . He was the deputy commander of the 4th Air Force Division in Aurich until February 2013 .

Training and first uses

Promotions

Dammjacob joined the Bundeswehr in 1968 with the Air Force Training Regiment 1 in Pinneberg , where he completed basic general military training . From 1968 to 1970 he was a pilot candidate in the 3rd squadron in the flight candidate regiment in Uetersen . From 1970 to 1972 he received his flying training as a student pilot in the Air Force training squadrons at Sheppard Air Force Base near Wichita Falls ( Texas , USA ) and Luke AFB near Glendale ( Arizona , USA) . After his return to Germany, from 1972 to 1977 he was employed for the first time as a pilot on the F-104G Starfighter in the 1st squadron of Fighter Bomber Wing 32 at Lechfeld Air Base . This was followed by retraining on the F-4F Phantom II and from 1977 to 1980 use as a pilot in the 2nd Squadron / Jagdbombergeschwader 35 on the horse field and 1980 to 1981 as a task force officer 1st Squadron in the same squadron. From 1981 to 1984 Dammjacob was an exchange flight instructor on the F-16 at the 56th Tactical Fighter Wing at Mac Dill AFB near Tampa ( Florida , USA). In 1984 Dammjacob returned to Germany and until 1986 was the squadron captain of the 2nd squadron of Fighter Bomber Squadron 36 in Rheine-Hopsten . From 1986 to 1988 he took part in the general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg .

Service as a staff officer

After completing his general staff training, Dammjacob continued to work as a lecturer in aerial warfare at the command academy of the Bundeswehr until 1990. From 1990 to 1992, after retraining on the Alpha Jet , he was deployed as the commander of the flying group of Fighter Bomber Wing 41 at Husum Air Base. Various assignments as a staff officer followed: 1992 to 1993 as a planning staff officer in the deployment staff, NATO Reaction Force Air Staff Kalkar and from 1993 to 1995 as a staff officer in the deployment staff and department head A 3 b in the Air Force Command North Kalkar. From 1995 to 1997 Dammjacob was employed as a consultant for Fü S III 4 ( European Union ; Western European Union ; fundamental issues of military-political interest representation in these organizations; European Commissioner of the Ministry of Defense ) in the headquarters of the armed forces in Bonn . From 1997 to 1999 he was again employed with the NATO Reaction Force Air Staff in Kalkar, this time as Chief Concepts and senior German officer . From 1999 to 2003 he was employed by the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the OSCE in Vienna . From 2003 to 2005 Dammjacob was Head of Division 5 (Personnel, Internal Management and Training) in the planning staff of the Federal Minister of Defense in Berlin .

Service as a general

From 2005 to 2008 Dammjacob was Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff at the Operative Command Air Force in Kalkar. This was accompanied by the promotion to brigadier general. From 2008 to 2010 he was Head of Operations (ACOS J3 ) in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe of NATO (SHAPE) in Mons ( Belgium ) in an integrated assignment. From 2010 to 2013 he was the last deputy commander of the 4th Air Force Division in Aurich. During this time he was also planned for six months as a contingent leader of the German NATO Response Force (NRF 17), and for a further six months as head of the liaison staff to the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) in Tampa , Florida ( USA ). In February 2013, Dammjacob was retired after 44 years of service.

Dammjacob was an aircraft pilot with 3500 flight hours, mainly on the F-104G, F-4F, A-Jet and F-16 A / B, as well as weapons instructor on F-104G and F-4F and flight instructor on F-4F and F- 16 A / B.
