Flotilla Admiral Sievert (1985)

Klaus-Dieter Sievert (born May 17, 1935 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German naval officer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Sievert completed an apprenticeship as an export merchant . In 1956 he joined the Navy of the German Armed Forces as an officer candidate ( Crew V / 56). First deployed in 1958/59 as an officer on watch on speedboats and frigates, it was used as a commander in the 5th Schnellbootgeschwader from 1960 to 1963. In 1963/64 Sievert became company commander in the 3rd Marine Training Battalion. In 1964/65 he completed the B-course leadership service and then came to the frigate Lübeck as a lieutenant captain ship operations officer .

1966/67 he was head of inspections at the Naval School Mürwik (MSM) in Flensburg - Mürwik . After 1968 as first officer on the destroyer Hamburg Sievert came as a tactics instructor to the naval tactical training group in Wilhelmshaven. From 1972 to 1975 the commands for the frigate Karlsruhe and the frigate Cologne followed . After attending Naval War College (NWC) in 1976 in Newport (Rhode Island) Sievert came in 1977/78 as a group leader in the training department in the Naval Office (MarA) Wilhelmshaven. After being promoted to sea captain in 1979/80, he was employed as a squadron commander of the 2nd destroyer squadron. From 1980 to 1984 as the commander of the Naval Locating School (MOS) in Bremerhaven , he was transferred to Bonn in 1984/85 as head of department in the naval command staff (FüM) .

From 1985 to 1989 the Flotilla Admiral was the commander of the Mürwik Naval School near Flensburg and then in 1989/90 Head of Department I (Training) and Admiral Naval Training at the Naval Office in Wilhelmshaven. From 1990/92 to 1995 he was appointed officer for education and training at the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr and deputy officer for reservist matters. In 1993 he retired.

Sievert is married and has three children.
