Hubert Bung

Hubert (Hubertus) Bung (born May 17, 1920 in Cologne ; † June 18, 2004 ) was a German lawyer and brigadier general in the Bundeswehr .

Life

Bung joined the Wehrmacht on October 1, 1938 .

From 1947 to 1951 he studied law at the Saarland University in Saarbrücken. He passed the first and second state exams and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD. This was followed by admission to the bar .

In 1957 he joined the German Armed Forces and was trained as a staff officer in the command of the air force schools in Fürstenfeldbruck . In 1959/60 he took part in the 3rd general staff course (L) at the command academy of the Bundeswehr (FüAkBw) in Hamburg. From 1960 to 1962 he was A1 in the 1st Air Force Division in Munich. In 1962 he became a staff member at the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) in Bonn. In 1964 he moved as A1 to the Air Force Group North in Münster. In 1966 he was promoted to colonel . From 1969 to 1972 he was head of division in the command staff of the armed forces (Fü SI 2) in Bonn.

From 1972 to 1976 he was a defense attaché at the German Embassy in Paris in France. In 1976/77 he was head of department in the command staff of the armed forces (Fü SI) and commissioner for education and training at the inspector general of the Bundeswehr in Bonn. In 1978 the Brigadier General (from 1972) was decommissioned at his own request.

Bung was married to a baroness von Schönberg and had three children.
