Robert Sieger (General)

Robert Karl Sieger (born November 23, 1963 in Deisenhofen ) is a brigadier general of the Army of the German Armed Forces and the commissioner of the inspector general for education and training as well as deputy commander of the Center for Inner Leadership in Koblenz .

Military career

Training and first uses

Sieger joined the Bundeswehr in 1984 with the 750 NBC Defense Battalion in Bruchsal . From 1984 to 1985 he completed his training as an officer in the NBC defense force at the NBC defense and self-protection school in Sonthofen . From 1985 to 1989 he studied economics and organizational science at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg . From 1989 to 1992 Sieger was employed as a platoon leader officer in NBC defense company 11 in Emden , and from 1992 to 1996 as company commander of NBC defense company 7 (or later the 4th / ABC defense battalion 110) in Emden. This was followed by a transfer to Oldenburg , where he was used from 1996 to 1997 as a NBC defense officer of Airborne Brigade 31 . From 1997 to 1999 Sieger took part in the 40th Army General Staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg.

Service as a staff officer

After passing the general staff training, Sieger was deployed from 1999 to 2001 as a staff officer in the staff department head Fü S IV (logistics of the Bundeswehr, NBC defense and protective tasks ) in the command staff of the armed forces in Bonn . From 2001 to 2002 he took part in the American General Staff training at Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth ( Kansas , USA ). It was followed from 2002 to 2003 use as G3 staff officer in the department training and exercises of the Army Forces Command in Koblenz. From 2003 to 2005 Sieger was again in leadership responsibility as commander of the ABC Defense Battalion 610 in Albersdorf . This was followed from 2005 to 2008 in Bonn as a press officer for the Inspector of the Army , Lieutenant General Hans-Otto Budde . From 2008 to 2010, Sieger was course director of the General and Admiralty Staff Service National 2008 course at the Bundeswehr Leadership Academy . From 2010 to 2013 he was employed as a ministerial head of department and head of division in the planning staff and later in the politics department in the Federal Ministry of Defense , based in Berlin . In 2013 Sieger was transferred to Veitshöchheim , where he was Chief of Staff of the Airmobile Operations Division until 2015 , after which he was the Division South (at the same location) and finally the 10th Armored Division . He handed over this post to Colonel Jared Sembritzki . This was followed by two assignments in the Inner Leadership Center: from 2015 to 2017 as Head of Human Resource Management and from 2017 to 2019 as Head of Staff.

Service as a general

Since March 2019, Sieger has been the successor to Brigadier General Wolfgang Richter , commissioner of the Bundeswehr Inspector General for Education and Training and Deputy Commander of the Center for Inner Leadership in Koblenz. On this post he was promoted to brigadier general himself.
