history
The Vollmühle am Mühlenbach, a tributary of the Schwalm, which was also called the old (Rhine) Dahlener fulling mill , was mentioned in a document as early as 1468 and is an early testimony to the textile tradition in this country. A fulling mill was used as a machine for processing, compacting and finishing wool, fabric, felt or cloth. An invoice from 1554 shows that it was a private mill for which a "water knowledge" had to be paid as a fee. Around 1800 the mill was converted into a grinding mill . A lack of water and drive made it necessary to switch to a diesel engine from 1930 , and later to an electric motor . The mill business was converted to land trade (agriculture) by the owner . A modern mill is still in use today.
