The Zoppenbroicher Mühle was a water mill with an undershot water wheel on the upper reaches of the Niers in the Mönchengladbach district of Rheydt in the administrative district of Düsseldorf .

The Zoppenbroicher mill was located on the right side of the Niers, in Zoppenbroich , in the Mönchengladbach district of Rheydt. Above was the Eickesmühle , below the Rheydt Castle Mill . The area on which the mill building stood is at a height of approx. 51 m above sea ​​level .

The Zoppenbroich mill, located directly at the Zoppenbroich house , was an undercut grain and oil mill that was first mentioned in 1490. The owner of Schloss Myllendonk let her subject Gerhard in gen Nover in the tower throw because he had grinding at the mill Zoppenbroicher and thus against the thirlage the Castle Mill Myllendonk had violated. In 1807 Dietrich and Johann Lenssen acquired the mill and built the largest cotton mill in the area. They also bought the Broichmühle . After the Zoppenbroicher mill burned down in 1823, production was relocated to Broichmühle.

The Zoppenbroich mill was rebuilt and, together with the castle, was owned by the Bresges family in 1827, who also set up a textile factory. Instead of the water wheel , a turbine was used to drive it from 1882 . The factory worked until 1977. The area was transformed into a park , the Bresgespark .

The mill was relocated to the neighboring restaurant Kamphausen in 1879 due to lack of space . The tenant was both an innkeeper and a miller . In 1902 the mill was stopped.
