WNBA All-Star Game 2011
The WNBA's 10th All-Star Game took place on July 23, 2011 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio , Texas . The League leadership awarded on March 3, the game at the San Antonio Silver Stars . The WNBA All-Star Game was played for the first time in the history of the WNBA in San Antonio, or for the second time by a franchise from the Western Conference . As in previous years, a selection of the best players from the Eastern Conference competed against a team from the Western Conference. The top 15 were also presented at the event .
The best players of the WNBA took part in the event. In a worldwide vote on the Internet, the starting formations for the Western Conference and the Eastern Conference were determined, while the remaining positions in the squad were allocated by the trainers within the Conference. The coach had to decide for six players each, including at least two guards, two forwards and a center. In addition, the head coach was not allowed to vote for a player from their team.
Teams
The players in the starting line-up, the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference could be selected on the internet on the official website of the WNBA or via SMS with the mobile phone. Each fan could vote as often as they wanted. On July 14, 2011, the starting line-up for both teams was announced. Most of the players in the starting line-up were the Seattle Storm in the Western Conference with Sue Bird and Swin Cash and the Indiana Fever in the Eastern Conference , represented by Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas .
- 1 Candace Parker was unable to play due to an injury. Liz Camage was nominated for her. Parker was replaced in the starting line-up by Rebekkah Brunson.

Top 15
At halftime, the 15 best women players in the history of the WNBA were honored on the occasion of the 15th WNBA season. The top 15 were determined by means of elections, with a distinction being made between three groups of voters:

- active players, head coaches of the WNBA
The WNBA weighted the votes of the individual voter groups so that each group has the same influence on the result. The results of the elections were as follows:

All-Star Game
After the defeat in 2009, the Eastern Conference won the tenth All-Star Game with 118-113. The game was balanced over long distances, although the West and the East were able to break away again and again in the first three quarters, but neither team managed to maintain or expand this lead. The decision was made in one of the most points-rich All-Star Games in WNBA history in the last quarter. Also in the fourth quarter the leadership changed several times. The team from the west led 113: 111 in the last minute. With a successful 3-point throw from Katie Douglas , the East took over the lead again and then held it until the end of the game.
After the game, Swin Cash was named the most valuable player in the All-Star Games for the second time in the history of the WNBA. Cash, who received this award for the second time since 2009, scored 21 points and 12 rebounds in this game.
