Walter Sachers

Walter Sachers (born February 2, 1954 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Walter Sachers was trained as an actor at the Elisabethbühne in Salzburg from 1977 to 1979 , then at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York City until 1981 .

Engagements led him first to the Stadttheater Würzburg and the Städtische Bühnen Regensburg , later appearances at the Hamburg Ernst-Deutsch-Theater , the Stadttheater Bruneck , the Landestheater Tübingen , the Tyrolean Volksschauspiele Telfs and the Wiener Festwochen .

In the film American Beauty Ltd. he had a starring role in 1989, the film was in 1990 at the German Film Award as Best Picture nomination. In 1993 he played the role of Stefano in the ORF / ZDF television series The People of St. Benedict . In 1994 he and Martin Flür co-founded the Schauspielforum Tirol, which later became the Innsbruck Drama School, of which he was a member of the management team until 2009. He was engaged at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck for 13 years.

Salzburg State Theater

Since the 2012/13 season it can be seen at the Salzburger Landestheater , initially as a guest, and since the 2013/14 season as a permanent member of the ensemble. There he played the tobacco shop operator Otto Trsnjek in the premiere of the stage version of The Tobacconist, the beggar king Peachum in the Threepenny Opera , Miller in Kabale and Liebe and Polonius in Hamlet , and he was also in Confessions of the impostor Felix Krull and the world premiere of Wir to see establish a bank .
