history

In older times Großendorf (formerly Grotendorp , Zarrentin , Sarrentin , Czarrentin ) was a fiefdom of the Stojentin family . In 1469 the brothers Klaus and Lorenz von Stojentin were enfeoffed with all of Czerntin . In 1686 the estate passed to the Podewils family through marriage , who owned it until 1797. Around 1784 there was a farm in Großendorf, 16 farmers, three cottages , an inn, a smithy, a schoolmaster and a total of 23 households. At the time, the estate was owned by Count Friedrich Heinrich von Podewils .

Before the end of the Second World War , Großendorf was the official seat of the district of Großendorf in the district of Stolp in the administrative district of Köslin in the province of Pomerania . The parish area was 1,502 hectares. In 1925 there were 64 houses in Großendorf. In 1939 there were 553 inhabitants living in 102 households.

The last landowner until 1945 was Friedrich Leo von Schwerdtner . Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was occupied by the Red Army on March 9, 1945 and soon afterwards placed under Polish administration. As part of Polish expropriation measures , newly immigrated Poles occupied the houses and homesteads and expelled the residents.

Later, 256 villagers displaced from Großendorf in the Federal Republic of Germany and 92 in the GDR were identified.

The village is now part of the Gmina Główczyce (rural community Glowitz) . In 2008 Wielka Wieś had 460 inhabitants.
