Wykosowo is mentioned in a document from 1315 in which the Brandenburg Margrave Waldemar confirmed the possession of the village of Vixow as a fief to Casimir Swenzo from the noble family of the Swenzonen . Later Vixow came to the Stojentin family . In 1523 hans is called Stoientin to Vixsowe . After Vixow had been divided into four parts in the 18th century, the owners of which changed several times, Michael Sigismund von Stojentin managed to reunite all four parts in one hand. In 1784, there was a large and a small Vorwerk, seven farmers, five in Vixow Kossäten , five Büdner , a blacksmith, a schoolmaster, on the field Mark of the village water mill and a total of 24 households. At that time, mostly Kashubian was spoken in Vixow . In 1804 Friedrich Ewald von Stojentin was the owner of the Vixow manor. In 1841 it went to a Wetzel family for 56,000 thalers . In 1884 Wilhelm Ott was the owner. After that, the estate came into the possession of the Heyn family, long-established in Western Pomerania. In 1910 William Heyn was the owner, in 1938 Joachim Friedrich Heyn. Well-known members of the Heyn family are the pastor Martin Christian Heyn, author of a house book, and the businessman Otto Johann Christian Heyn.

In 1925 there were 41 residential buildings in Vixow. In 1939 there were 299 inhabitants in 64 households in Vixow. In addition to the 822 hectare (1938) estate, there were 18 farms in Vixow. On March 13, 1945, a larger Soviet troop billeted in Vixow and dismantled the dairy and distillery. The village was under the administration of a Soviet commander until 1946. A Polish administration was then set up. Vixow was renamed Wykosowo . The houses and farms were taken over by Poles and the German villagers were driven out .

124 villagers who had come from Vixow in the Federal Republic of Germany and 99 in the GDR were identified later .
