Podole Wielkie

Podole Wielkie (German Groß Podel ) is a village in the powiat Słupski ( Stolp district ) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship .

Geographical location

Padole Wielkie is located in Western Pomerania , about 16 kilometers west-northwest of the city of Lębork ( Lauenburg in Pomerania ), 15 kilometers south of Lake Leba on the Baltic Sea and two kilometers northeast of the village of Stowięcino ( Stojentin ).

The manor Groß Gohren was a fief of the Stojentin family in 1519 . In 1590 there were 21 farms in the village, one of which was uncultivated, and eight cottages . Ewald von Osten held the knight's seat. Fifteen farmers and three kossas were subordinate to him. Around 1784 the village was owned by Baron Dietrich von Puttkamer . At that time there was a farm, eight farmers, a kossaeteer, a forge, a schoolmaster, on the Feldmark the two farms Mukry and Ulrichsfelde , a sheep farm, various Büdner , a water mill and a total of 45 households. In 1820 the property was converted into an allodial property (free property). In 1841 Philipp von Braunschweig acquired Groß Podel for 113,000 thalers and became the master of Sorchow, Groß Podel and Wollin. The estate was then owned by his heirs. In 1925 there were 52 residential buildings in the village.

Before 1945 the village was large Podel the main residence of the District Stojentin associated community Groß Podel in county Stolp , administrative region of Pomerania , the province of Pomerania . There were ten places to live in the municipality:

The parish area was 1,823 hectares. In 1939 a total of 91 households and 402 inhabitants were counted.

Towards the end of World War II , Groß Podel was occupied by the Red Army on March 9, 1945 and soon afterwards placed under Polish administration and renamed Podole Wielkie . The villagers were gradually evicted , including a transport from September 1, 1947.

After the end of the war, 154 villagers displaced from Groß Podel were identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 160 in the GDR .

In 2008 the village had 260 inhabitants.
