Viktor Nikolajewitsch Lebedew ( Russian Виктор Николаевич Лебедев ; * March 10, 1988 or March 15, 1989 ) is a Russian wrestler . He became the bantamweight free style world champion in 2010 and 2011 .

Career

Viktor Lebedev, of Yakut descent, started wrestling in 2002 as a teenager. He is now a member of the Russian Army and belongs to the SKA Krasnoyarsk Army Sports Club . He is or was trained there by Dmitri Mindiaschwili and Vladimir Modosjan. The 1.65 meter tall athlete is a student and started exclusively in free style.

As a junior he started in 2006 at the Junior World Championships in Guatemala City in the weight class up to 50 kg body weight and won the world championship there ahead of Ahmet Peker from Turkey , Patrick McCaffrey from the United States and Abbas Dabbighi Somak from Iran .

After this great success it was not until 2009 that he was able to assert himself against tough competition in Russia and was used at international championships in the senior sector. In 2009 he was also the first Russian bantamweight champion before Osip Michailow, Rasul Masezew and Nariman Israpilow . At the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark he won the bantamweight division over Hector Camacho from Venezuela , the 2006 world champion Radoslaw Velikow from Bulgaria and Mihran Jaburjan from Armenia . In the semifinals he lost to Sezer Akgül from Turkey , but defeated Namig Sewdimow from Azerbaijan in the battle for a bronze medal in the World Cup .

In 2010 Viktor Lebedew won the Russian bantamweight championship again and relegated Ramazan Sajputdinow, Peter Sivchev and Jamal Otarsultanov to the places. Then he started in Baku for the first time at a European Championship for seniors and defeated there Wladislav Andrejew from Belarus and Vladimir Chinchegashvili from Georgia . Against Radoslaw Velikow he suffered a defeat this time, but then defeated Yuri Ledenew from the Ukraine and won an EM bronze medal . A first peak in the young career of Viktor Lebedev were the 2010 World Championships in Moscow , because he won there with wins over Nasibulla Kurbanov of Uzbekistan , Radoslav Velikov, Kim Hyo-sub , South Korea , Frank Chamizo from Cuba and toghrul asgarov from Azerbaijan won the world bantamweight title.

In March 2011 he represented Russia at the Team World Cup in Makhachkala. He was used in three bantamweight fights and defeated Altinbek Alimbajew from Kyrgyzstan, Nasibulla Kurbanow and Hassan Rahimi from Iran. After he was again the Russian bantamweight champion in 2011 before Jamal Otarsultanov , Alexander Bogomejew and Nariman Israpilow, he represented Russia in this weight class again in 2011 at the World Cup in Istanbul. He won the title again with victories over Mihran Jaburjan, Armenia, Alan Olvera Lopez, Mexico, Frank Chamizo Marquez, Cuba, Daulet Nijasbekow, Kazakhstan and Radoslaw Velikow.

At the Russian championship in the 2012 Olympic year, he lost the bantamweight final against Jamal Otarsultanov, who also represented the Russian colors at the Olympic Games this year in London. In 2013 Viktor Lebedev did not start at any international championships.

In 2014 he was again the Russian bantamweight champion before Omak Shurschun. In September 2014 he was then used in the bantamweight championship in Tashkent. He defeated there first Ghenadie Tulbea from Moldova and Pedro Jesus Mejias Rodriguez from Venezuela, but then lost to Hassan Rahimi and was eliminated because Rahimi did not reach the final battle. Because of this, he only finished 9th.

In 2015 Viktor Lebedev again won the Russian bantamweight championship. In June 2015 he won the 1st European Bantamweight Games in Baku in Baku. In the final he defeated Marcel Ewald from Germany. The European championship was also associated with this success.
