Ghenadie Tulbea

Ghenadie Tulbea (born March 3, 1979 in Talmaz , Raion Ștefan Vodă , Moldovan SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Moldovan or Monegasque wrestler . He became European bantamweight champion in free style in 2001 and 2005 .

Career

Ghenadie Tulbea began wrestling as a teenager in 1992. In Moldova, the 1.57 meter tall athlete, who competes in the bantamweight category up to 55 kg body weight, started for Dinamo Chișinău . There he was or is by Nikolai G. Oreol u. Boris Sava trains. But he has been wrestling in the German Bundesliga for many years. Currently (2010) for the ASV Nendingen . He was already quite successful as a junior and became vice-European junior champion in 1998 in Radovis / Macedonia and 1999 in Riga. He achieved his first big success in 2001 when he became European champion in Budapest in bantamweight with victories over Zoltan Dobozi, Hungary , Geworg Markarjan, Ukraine , Armen Mkrtchjan , Armenia and Amiran Kartanow from Greece .

In 2002 he almost managed to defend this title in Baku . After winning three fights, he lost to the Azerbaijani local hero Nazim Alidjanow and came in 2nd place. At the World Championships in 2001 in Sofia and 2002 in Tehran , Ghenadie Tulbea played no role with a 12th place and an 18th place.

In 2003 he proved that he can also be successful at world championships. In New York he defeated in the bantamweight Aurel Cimpoeru, Romania , Freddy Serrano, Colombia , Stephen Abas from the United States and Mohamed Aslani from Iran , before he had to admit defeat in the final Dilshod Mansurov from Uzbekistan . He became vice world champion .

He was not very successful in 2004. At first he lost to Jürgen Wedeking from Germany at the European Championships in Ankara and only achieved 11th place. He fared even worse at the Olympic Games in Athens that year , because there he lost in the bantamweight division against René Montero from Cuba and against Stephen Abas and ended up in 21st place.

In 2005 he achieved another great success at the European Championships in Varna . There he became European champion for the second time and defeated three absolute world class wrestlers with Namig Sewdimow from Azerbaijan, Aljaksandr Kantojeu from Russia and Radoslaw Velikow from Bulgaria . At the 2005 World Championships in Budapest he suffered defeats in the bantamweight division of Radoslaw Welikow and Jon Hyok-Guk from North Korea and therefore only reached 10th place.

In the following years he was no longer able to win a medal at international championships. The best place he achieved between 2006 and 2010 was a 5th place at the 2006 European Championships in Moscow . At the European Championships in Tampere in 2008 , he even suffered a shoulder defeat from Tim Schleicher from Germany. In 2008 he also failed to qualify for the Beijing Olympics.

Ghenadie Tulbea started for Monaco in 2010 . For this country he reached a 3rd place in the bantamweight division at the Mediterranean Games in Istanbul . At the World Championships in Moscow he lost his first fight very tightly against Ryswan Hajjyeu from Belarus (1: 2 rounds, 4: 6 technical points), but since this did not reach the final, he did not make it into the consolation round and ended up on 18th place .
