Wilhelm Scheffer (politician)

Wilhelm Martin Heinrich Scheffer (born December 2, 1844 in Marburg , † March 20, 1898 in Königsbrunn ) was a German administrative lawyer, judge and member of the Reichstag.

Life

Scheffer attended the Philippinum High School in Marburg and studied law and political science at the Philipps University of Marburg , the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and the Friedrich Wilhelms University of Berlin from 1863 to 1867 . He became a member of the Corps Nassovia Würzburg (1864) and the Corps Hasso-Nassovia (1865).

From 1868 to 1873 he was an apprentice court trainee. During the Franco-Prussian War he worked for nine months in the German administration in Châlons-en-Champagne , Versailles and Troyes . From 1873 on he was a public prosecutor's assistant in Breslau and from 1877 on he was entrusted with the administration of the public prosecutor's office in Meseritz . In 1878 he became a government assessor in Münster , in 1881 district administrator of the Ahaus district and in 1882 district administrator of the Schlochau district . In 1888 he went to Bromberg as senior government councilor and in 1890 as deputy district president of the Düsseldorf administrative region . In 1896 he became a judge at the Prussian Higher Administrative Court .

For the constituency administrative district Marienwerder 7 ( Schlochau - Flatow ) and the German Conservative Party , he sat in the Reichstag (German Empire) from 1884 to 1890 . He was also a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and the West Prussian Provincial Parliament between 1886 and 1888 .
