William C. Wilson
William C. Wilson (* before 1900, † after 1906) was an American lawyer and politician .
Career
Not much is known about William C. Wilson. He studied law and began practicing law after receiving his license. His legal practice was at 55 Liberty Street in Manhattan . Wilson was a member of the Republican Party and was active in the 27th District in New York City . The New York State Comptroller William J. Morgan named him on May 3, 1900 as one of the five New York State Transfer Tax Appraisers for New York County under the new Traffic Tax Act . As First Deputy Comptroller under Otto Kelsey , he acted as Acting New York State Comptroller after his resignation in May 1906. After several months he was finally appointed on November 8, 1906 by the Governor of New York Frank W. Higgins for the remainder of Kelsey's term of office as New York State Comptroller.
