John Vernon Henry

John Vernon Henry or John Vernor Henry ( 1767 - October 22, 1829 ) was an American lawyer and politician .

Career

John V. Henry, son of Elizabeth Vernor and Robert Henry, was born during the reign of King George III. born. Nothing is known about his youth. He studied law and began practicing law in 1782 after receiving his license to practice law. His student days were overshadowed by the War of Independence . In the following years he joined the Federalist Party . He was a member of the New York State Assembly for Albany County from 1800 to 1802 . During this time he was New York State Comptroller from 1800 to 1801 . In 1801 he participated in the delegate as a Constituent Assembly of New York in part.

He was married to a Charlotte Seaton or Charlotte Seton. Her sister was the wife of his brother Robert R. Henry. John died of a stroke in 1829 and was then buried in the Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands, New York.
