The Wind Solution is a residential and offshore support vessel from the Dutch company C-bed. It was built as a ferry .

history

The ship was built in 1969 under the hull number 180 as Prinsessan Christina on the Aalborg Værft , Aalborg , Denmark and was used between Gothenburg and Frederikshavn from the end of the year . From 1974 to 1981 the ship was used between Gothenburg and Travemünde .

Between August 1981 and October 1981 the ship drove temporarily for Sally Line on the route between Dunkerque and Ramsgate .

Until the late 1990s, the ship, with changing names and for various shipping companies, mainly sailed between Sweden , Denmark and Norway . In February 1999, the ship was in Miami launched in March of the year after Italy sold. Here it was used as a commodore between Genoa and Sardinia or Corsica . After the shipping company had ceased service in October 2002, the ship was launched in Genoa. In the following years the ship was used on various routes in the Mediterranean.

In 2008 the ship was sold to C-bed and in 2008/2009 Tallinn and Fredericia were converted into a barge . Since then it has been used as accommodation in the construction of offshore wind farms .

The ship was sold in January 2018. The ship is now owned by the Greek company Seajets . It was then renamed Aqua Soltion .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by eight diesel engines from Nydqvist & Holm, each with an output of 1,291  kW . The motors act on two controllable pitch propellers . Four diesel generators are available for the power supply on board, three generators from the manufacturer Nydqvist & Holm with around 772 kW each and one from the manufacturer Mercedes-Benz with an output of around 210 kW.

As a RoRo ferry, the ship could carry 1,400 passengers. There was space for 360 cars on the loading deck. After the conversion to a residential ship, the ship has 80 cabins.
