Wolff Lindner

Wolff Lindner (born September 25, 1934 in Hamburg ; † November 16, 2003 in Essen ) was a German actor , radio drama speaker and acting teacher.

Life

Wolff Lindner learned the acting profession from Eduard Marks in Hamburg. From 1954 to 1958 Lindner was engaged at the Hamburg Thalia Theater . Here he was seen among other roles in 1956 in The Glass of Water by Eugène Scribe , he played under the direction of Ilo von Jankó in The Deadly Lie by Gerd Oelschlegel or in 1958 in Bruno Frank's Twelve Thousand . From 1958 to 1978 he worked for 20 years at the Grillo Theater in Essen. Here, among other things was in the title role of Harold Pinter's The Caretaker or as Aegisthus in the Oresteia of Aeschylus to see.

At the Folkwang University of the Arts there , Lindner began his professorial work in the acting course on April 1, 1978 . In addition, from 1988 to 1990 he was Dean of Faculty 3 (including acting and directing ) and from 1990 to 1996 Vice Rector .

From the mid-1980s Wolff Lindner played again at the Grillo Theater under Hansgünther Heyme and at the Recklinghausen Ruhr Festival . Here he played one of the two crooks in Cole Porter's musical Kiss Me, Kate in 1992 .

Since the 1960s, Lindner has also worked sporadically for film and television. In 1966 he was seen in a small role in the street sweeper Melissa , in 1973 he played in Wolfgang Menge's disaster film Smog . From the end of the 1990s, Lindner had guest roles in well-known series such as Die Anrheiner , Der Clown or Stadtklinik , where he embodied the character of Theo Donner in several episodes .

During his time in Hamburg and again from 1990 onwards, Lindner also took part in numerous radio play productions on the North German and West German radio stations , including in Friedrich Dürrenmatt's evening hour in late autumn in 1957 .

Wolff Lindner worked for the Folkwang University until his death and died in Essen at the age of 69 after a serious illness.
